We are excited about a new partnership with Cheshire Connect that will bolster support for charities within Chester and the surrounding area, helping them to deliver their aims more effectively so more people can benefit.
Cheshire Connect is a charity that unites local businesses and charities in a skill exchange. By matching business skills offered by businesses or expert individuals with charities free of charge, the charities become more sustainable and resilient, helping them to reach a wider audience. The skills required by the charities include legal, HR, IT, finance, marketing, leadership, mentoring, facility management and strategy development, among many others.
We granted Cheshire Connect £10,000 in order to support 250 matches in the skill exchange program, which amounts to over £500,000 worth of skills and support invested in the third sector from dedicated skills donors. The grant will also partly fund their Connect, Learn and Lead course for aspiring charity leaders. This 12-month training is delivered by business professionals and strengthens the charity sector by inspiring and developing strong leadership competencies.
Both charities have the view that when a charity needs support, it doesn’t matter who provides it, so long as it is freely given, accessible, and tailored to meet sometimes very specific needs to the highest of standards.
