Mike Jenkins – Chief Executive (part-time)

Mike Jenkins – Chief Executive (part-time)

Mike is responsible for developing and driving the strategy of The Chester Bluecoat Charity, including effectively managing the charity’s resources and leading the team to help achieve our aims and objectives.

Mike loves helping to make an impact in the charity sector. He has worked at The Stroke Association and Changing Lives Together and in his spare time supports a range of smaller charities as a skill donor. Mike used to be a tennis coach until his body gave up (his words, not ours!).

Claire Grundy – Charity Development Officer (part time)

Claire Grundy – Charity Development Officer (part time)

Claire is The Charity Development Officer at The Chester Bluecoat Charity with the responsibility of supporting our charity partners as well as helping to develop and implement our strategy.

Claire really enjoys the variety in her role and meeting with so many amazing organisations. She first volunteered at eighteen and has been involved with charities ever since. Claire loves to travel and one of her most memorable trips saw her staying in a treehouse in the Amazon rainforest.

David Smith – Buildings Manager

David Smith – Buildings Manager

David, our Buildings Manager, is responsible for the maintenance and conservation of the buildings owned by The Chester Bluecoat Charity, including The Bluecoat building and almshouses. He co-ordinates both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring that all properties are safe and secure for residential and office tenants with all facilities meeting regulatory standards.

David loves the fact his role gives him the opportunity to maintain some of Chester’s historical buildings. He previously worked for the charity Scope teaching life skills and needed these himself when he had to deliver his second child at home!

Holly Threlfall – Charity Support Officer (part time)

Holly Threlfall – Charity Support Officer (part time)

Holly is a Charity Support Officer with responsibility for our administration and financial management and ensuring we fulfil our legal and regulatory requirements. She makes sure the charity runs effectively and efficiently so the it can make the most of its’ resources and achieve its aims.

As the newest team member, Holly loves how the team has made her feel so welcome. In the past she has completed some very muddy runs for Cancer Research UK. As an animal lover, one of her best experiences was feeding the lemurs at Chester Zoo.

Janette Stowell – Bluecoat Manager

Janette Stowell – Bluecoat Manager

Janette manages The Bluecoat building. She enables the smooth operation of the building’s office spaces and meeting rooms, ensuring optimal working environments. She also manages and develops The Bluecoat’s facilities, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and codes.

Janette enjoys working in such a historical building and with so many wonderful staff. Janette used to volunteer at another vital charity – The West Cheshire Foodbank.

Lucy Meek - Communications Executive (part time)

Lucy Meek – Communications Executive (part time)

Lucy is our Communications Executive and is responsible for marketing and communications, ensuring the charity’s brand and message is seen and heard across the city and surrounding areas.

Lucy loves all the inspiring people she works with at The Bluecoat. She has taken part in many fundraising activities for different charities including a skydive and runs in Chester’s Santa Dash every year with her two young sons.

Rosie Bowman – Charity Support Officer (part time)

Rosie is a Charity Support Officer with responsibility for our administration and financial management and ensuring we fulfil our legal and regulatory requirements. She makes sure the charity runs effectively and efficiently so the it can make the most of its’ resources and achieve its aims.

Rosie loves the amazing ethos of the charity and the variety of her work. She has worked for and supported a range of charities including Citizens Advice. She used to ride a motorbike but now prefers the Park and Ride to get to work!
