We were delighted to be able to support Chester Pride’s Christmas day lunch which was free for anyone who was facing Christmas day alone or in hardship.
27 people joined the lunch, which not only was an amazing spread of food, it was also a chance for people to unite and not feel lonely, making friends along the way. We loved hearing this feedback from one of the attendees:
“I wanted to write and say that the Christmas lunch at the Rainbow Cafe was honestly the best Christmas Day I have had in years! To be with new people, sharing conversation, laughter and amazing food was just fantastic, and I am so grateful to you and the people who donated their time, and money to make the day possible. The volunteers worked so hard through the whole day, to put a smile on all our faces. They did an amazing job.
I am so very grateful to you for organising such a wonderful day. I would have been at home on my own if it had not been for you and the generosity of Chester Pride.”
The £500 we contributed went towards food costs and covering taxis for those who wouldn’t have been able to make it otherwise.
