When Kingsway and Newton Resident’s Trust (KANRA) applied for £878 to purchase a washing machine and dryer, we were delighted to be able to support them.
KANRA is a community hub run entirely by volunteers offering a range of services and advice, including delivering prescriptions to the vulnerable and elderly, running a food and clothes bank and offering a listening ear to the socially isolated. If they can’t provide the help required, they will refer to other services who can, such as Citizens Advice and KidsBank, making sure everyone always gets the support they need.
Since opening in 2011, the hub has been a great help to so many of their community and KANRA has seen an ever-increasing demand for support, showcasing how vital their work is.
In addition to the hub, KANRA also has a community outlet selling clothes, homewares and toys, with every penny earned from sales going back into the running costs for both.
The washing machine and dryer will not only be used for shop stock but also for anyone in their community who might need to use it as, for whatever reason, they temporarily don’t have access to one. If you wish to contact KANRA, you can do so here:
