With The Bluecoat’s prime location in the heart of Chester, our two welcoming, professional and peaceful meeting rooms are the ideal place to host your work event.
Whether you are planning a series of small, collaborative meetings or a large annual conference, our flexible rooms and friendly onsite team will ensure all your needs are met so you can focus on your meeting.
Our rooms are available for all to hire and start at just £70 for half a day, with a 50% discount offered to not-for profit organisations. When you hire one of our rooms, you will make a difference in the local community because all the profits raised go to our work supporting local good causes.
We have two meeting rooms available for hire.
The Oak Room

The Conference Room
The Conference Room is a large, airy and light room on the first floor. It has a projector and screen, flipchart and pens, lectern, plus a break-out room with instant hot water, mugs and teaspoons (there is no additional charge for the use of these facilities). TCBC does not provide tea/coffee/food, though hirers are welcome to bring their own, or have food delivered.
The Conference Room is fully accessible. For wheelchair-users accessibility is via an entry ramp, and lift. There is a disabled toilet on both the ground floor and the first floor. More details regarding Bluecoat accessibility can be found here.
The Conference Room can be set up in the following configurations:
- Horseshoe style – 15 people max
- Board Room style – 18 people max
- Cabaret style – 25 people max
- Classroom style – 30 people max
- Theatre style – 50 people max
The Oak Room
The Oak Room is on the ground floor and is fully accessible, being situated just inside a Bluecoat main entry door. The Oak Room has AV TV, plus flipchart and pens (there is no additional charge for the use of these facilities). Although we do not provide tea/coffee/food, hirers are welcome to bring in their own and we can provide a hot water flask, mugs, and teaspoons.
There is a disabled toilet directly opposite the Oak Room.
The Oak Room is set up in boardroom style – 12 people max.

All not-for profit organisations receive a 50% discount off the above prices. Throughout the month of August 2025, we are offering the meeting rooms to not-for-profits free of charge, on a first come first served basis.
Bluecoat meeting rooms are hired out on a morning, afternoon, or full-day basis:
- Morning hire: 9.00am – 12.45pm
- Afternoon hire: 1.15pm – 5.00pm
- All day hire: 9.00am – 5.00pm
All meeting rooms must be vacated by 5pm.
