Grant awarded for physiotherapy for those with degenerative neurological conditions

We are delighted to provide local charity, The Neuro Therapy Centre, with a grant of £4,596.60 to provide support to those living with long-term, degenerative neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s and MS.

The centre, based on the outskirts of Chester, encourages their community to ‘live their best neuro life’ through a preventative and holistic approach and it also supports carers, who often struggle to prioritise their own wellbeing.

Since opening its’ doors in 1985, the centre has experienced high demand offering core services which are not as readily available through the NHS, including physiotherapy, a fully accessible gym and fitness sessions, counselling and other complementary therapies such as peer support.

Our funding will contribute towards the salary of an experienced Neurological Physiotherapist who will deliver regular, consistent and tailored physio. This helps individuals maintain independence, slow deterioration of their condition, help support self-management and build self-confidence. One beneficiary said that receiving physiotherapy “eases my pain, creates a social life and my mental health has improved.”

We were pleased to be able to support this remarkable charity and their great work supporting an often overlooked community of those living with long term neurological conditions.
