We are pleased to announce we awarded grants to the following organisations in our Q2 2026 applications:
Platform for Life – £3,168 funding paid for four months’ rent for the organisation’s Blacon premises, where free community-based mental health services are provided to children, young people, and parents from low-income families. This includes counselling, art therapy and play therapy, and family support, all delivered by a team of highly qualified, trauma-informed therapists. This funding will help ensure the continued provision of accessible mental health support for local families who most likely otherwise would be unable to access it.
Soul Kitchen – £3,250 will contribute towards ‘Soul in a Bowl’, the second stage of a support pathway for those experiencing homelessness and food poverty in Chester. The programme helps participants develop practical cooking skills and learn the value of teamwork and peer support, while building self-confidence, reliability, and the opportunity to gain qualifications. These outcomes strengthen self-sufficiency, improve wellbeing, and enhance future employment opportunities.
Veg Ed CIC- £3,213 delivers 12 accessible cookery workshops for adults with SEND from marginalised and disadvantaged communities across Ellesmere Port. Participants will develop practical cooking skills, learn how to prepare affordable and nutritious meals, and build the confidence to live more independently. The workshops will also provide valuable social opportunities, helping to reduce isolation and foster meaningful connections for people who often find mainstream activities inaccessible.
Stable Minds CIC – Our £5,000 award will support a collaboration with Chester FC Community Trust stemming from its weekly mental health support group. This funding will enable Stable Minds to deliver individually tailored one-to-one support programmes, each consisting of 10 sessions for 5 men aged 18 and over from disadvantaged backgrounds. The free service will provide a safe and confidential space for participants to meaningfully improve their mental health, build resilience and strengthen their ability to manage the challenges of daily life.
