Support for grant applications
To help you with your grant application we have developed some simple guidelines to follow. Before you apply, please ensure that your application meets the following criteria.
- Usage: we accept applications for grants to cover either a project or core costs.
- Awarding: we do not award grants to individuals or commercial organisations.
- Amount: the maximum grant you can apply for is £20,000 per year.
- Location: your work must benefit those in England within 15 miles of The Bluecoat building.
- Focus: your work must align with our goals of tackling the causes of poverty, disadvantage and inequality.
- Governance: your organisation needs to demonstrate effective and transparent management.
- Sustainability: you need to be able to demonstrate that your organisation and the work you do is sustainable.
- Impact: you need to be able to demonstrate the quantitative and/or qualitative impact of the grant.
Our application process
If you are considering submitting an application, we will happily meet with you prior to this for an initial chat about your work and discuss your suitability for a grant award.
If you wish to apply and are happy that your application meets the above criteria, please:
- Download the form below and return your completed form to us. We prefer that you enclose all information in the form, however we will accept additional pages if needed. If you are unable to access the form, then please contact us.
- You will receive confirmation of your application within one week.
- Our applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Notification of the outcome of your grant request will be sent within six weeks after the quarter end which followed your application submission. Our quarter ends are March 31st, June 30th, September 30th and December 31st.
